GAP ad, insulting?

I found this article today talking about the new Gap ad.

The Gap now has signs hanging in their windows that say " PUT SOME PANTS ON" then in small print "because we all can't look good in shorts"

I am not really a fan of stores insulting their customers. Never having been stick thin or the ideal GAP customer, I was very excited when I got some GAP jeans recently. Perhaps GAP, I will take my big butt and my money elsewhere. Don't play on the insecurities of people, fat or thin.

  1. My cousin is stick skinny...I actually want to feed her a box of Twinkies everyday. She refuses to wear shorts because she thinks she looks bad in them. So I think there are people out there, big and small, that would identify with this ad. I guess I don't find it that offensive.

  4. I feel self-conscious in shorts because my skin is puckery. I'm a size six.

My son things his legs are too skinny.

My husband thinks his are too white.

It's true, we can't all look (as good as we'd like) in shorts.

My standard line of summer is a little different. I often say, "Just because it's legal for men to go shirtless, it doesn't mean all men should."

I worked part time for Gap a few years back, and I loved helping women of all sizes find jeans or shorts. Not all their styles are for skinny minis!
