Earth Footwear Review

It was a great surprise to be informed on Earth Day that I was one of the lucky winners in Earth Footwear's Earth Day give away. Earth Footwear gave away 40 pairs of shoes to randomly chosen Facebook fans. I was not familiar with Earth Footwear until I participated in a Twitter party. I was very interested in the information that was shared. The pair I selected from the spring 2010 line is called Simplista (MSRP $109.00) The Simplista comes in 2 colors Almond and Black Leather. It is a cute Mary Jane styled shoe with pleating on the toe. It has several special features: 3.7 degree incline, anatomic arch support, and biofoam cushioning. The 3.7 incline is a unique feature.

According to Earth Footwear's website, " a unique inclined sole that positions the toes 3.7ยบ higher than the heels. The slight angle shifts weight subtly back over the heels, and can help strengthen and tone the body while also burning calories. To complement 3.7° Incline, all Earth footwear features reinforced support through the arch. The arch support maximizes the effectiveness of the heel design in promoting a natural walking motion. Inside all Earth footwear, a form-fitting footbed provides exceptional comfort with BioFoam
cushioning. The proprietary material molds to the shape of the foot, displacing and absorbing shock with each step, and is environmentally-considerate, using 70% recycled content. "

I have worn these shoes now for 4 days. I can tell how it is working my legs! My calf muscles have been very tight. I didn't really notice the first couple of days, but after wearing them to a street festival over the weekend, (which I should not have done) I am feeling it.

It always pays to read the instructions. Earth Footwear recommends that you wear your shoes for 1 hour the first time you wear them, then gradually add more wear time. This allows you and your muscles to become more accustomed to the incline.

Even though I am hurting right now, I love my shoes and I would love to get a pair of their sandals for summer time!

Disclaimer: I was not compensated for my review. I received the shoes by being a randomly selected winner in a contest. The opinions are my own and may not reflect those of other Earth Footwear wearers.
