My husband called me up one day last week to ask how I felt about having a 60 inch TV. Personally, I am happy with a small TV. I don't need to feel like I am in the program. I don't really watch a lot of TV, so I am good. My husband is a different story. Since getting married, our TV has grown in size every 2 years or so.
A friend of my husband's needed some painting done at a rental property and in exchange they were offering this 60 inch TV. It isn't a flat screen, it is probably a 4 year old projection TV. He was going to look at it and decide. That was fine with me until.... he came home with it!!
The thing is huge! so much so it is taking up half of my living room. The other problem (and the biggest problem) is that the owner apparently smoked like a freight train. I mean no offense to smokers, but when you are a non smoker you notice cigarette smell. The thing reeks!! I have cleaned it with every type of cleaner in my home. I have febreezed the life out of it and nothing it cutting it. The buttons on the remote, that I think were once white are yellow. I hate touching it.
I can not stand it anymore!! My husband thinks it is the greatest thing since white bread and I just want it out of the house. I don't know what to do...
That IS giant. We have a 42 inch and that's plenty big for me.
ReplyDeleteYou could try selling it, and then convincing your hubby that the money you get from selling it could buy a smaller but BETTER TV like a 40" plasma or something...especially with Black Friday coming up, since that's one of the cheapest times to buy TVs!

Bump it while vacuuming...so it smashes to the floor. OOOPS.
ReplyDeleteOh man! I didn't think about TVs smelling like smoke like you do with other things. Ugh. Tough spot to be in. Yes, time to sell and find something "better" that fits in your space better too!
