Nutella Party

Mornings are crazy at our house!  We hardly ever get to sit down to breakfast, it is always grab something and eat it on the go.   That is why it is important to me that I have breakfast  food that can be prepared quickly.    We all know that eating a balanced breakfast is the best way to start your day and your child's day.

A balanced breakfast gives your brain and body the fuel it needs to get going in the morning. Nutella hazelnut spread on your favorite whole grain bakery item with a glass of skim milk and a serving of fruit is a quick and easy solution for a balanced breakfast.

I was recently selected to host a Nutella party.  I was able to share with moms (and dads) some ideas for a nutritionally balanced breakfast using Nutella.

Breakfast Roll Up
Spread a whole wheat tortilla with Nutella spread and sprinkle with dried cherries and chopped apricots. Roll up and eat on the go!  This can be done with a variety of fruit (dried, stewed, or fresh)

Breakfast Sandwich:
Toast a whole grain honey English muffin and spread half with Nutella.  Then top with fresh sliced strawberries.  Place the other half on top and enjoy a delicious breakfast sandwich.

European families have been enjoying Nutella hazelnut spread for 40 years as a breakfast staple.  Nutella  spread is made with more than 50 hazelnuts in on jar.  It does not contain any hydrogenated oil or trans fat and is very low in sodium compared to other nut butters.   It does not have artificial colors or preservatives.  It does not contain peanuts or peanut ingredients, nor does it come into contact with peanuts during manufacturing.  Nutella does not contain any ingredients derived from gluten and it is also kosher.

If you are looking for something different in the morning, you might want to consider trying out Nutella.
